Welcome to ICASP-7
We are delighted to announce ICASP-7, the 7th International Conference on Advances in Solidification Processes and we are particularly happy to invite you to join us in Madrid (Spain) on June 10-13, 2025!
The ICASP conference series is a prominent forum for researchers to present and discuss the latest advances and future directions in solidification science. After the great successes of the previous editions in Sweden (2005), Austria (2008), Germany (2011), UK (2014), Austria (2019), and France (2022), the event will be hosted for the first time in Spain. The main event will take place at the Retiro building of Madrid Technical University (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid – ETSI Caminos Canales y Puertos), within a 5 min walk from Atocha train station and the central Retiro Park.

ICASP-7 will cover all aspects of research and applications related to solidification. It will be a great opportunity for researchers and engineers from academia and industry to exchange on recent advances and to discuss outstanding challenges in the field. Topics of interest include, but are not restricted to:
- Casting, welding, additive manufacturing, remelting processes, …
- Microstructure formation & evolution in solidification processes
- Thermodynamics & kinetics of solidification & phase transformations
- Dendritic, eutectic, peritectic, monotectic growth, …
- Nucleation and grain refinement
- Heat & mass transfer (fluid flow, solute transport, …)
- Thermomechanics (stresses, deformations, …)
- Defects (hot tearing, shrinkage, porosity, segregation, …)
- Experimental & characterization methods (e.g. in situ, operando)
- Theory, modeling and simulation methods across scales
- Thermophysical properties measurements & calculations
- Physics, chemistry, thermodynamics & kinetics of interfaces
- Rapid solidification and nonequilibrium effects
- Liquid metal processing: dealloying, melting, …
